My name is Therese Goos-Tammer and I live in Amsterdam where I was born and raised.
Amsterdam Bears consist of myself, my husband Ruud and our cat, Sparky, who loves to assist me in my work.
In between my work at our Bed & Breakfast business and working part-time as a secretary I try to find time and inspiration to design and make my own bears.
I began making bears some time ago when my sister in law wanted some assistance making one. After a while, in which we made some puppets from Fimo popymere clay, I began making bears more frequently and haven't stopped.
The bear bug has bitten me.
I started making my bears from old curly coats and now I'm using fur and mohair to create my bears.
I enjoy making bears in a different range of sizes.
Ruud made a web-page when we decided the house would become over-run with bears if I kept making them for myself. (as well as family and friends).
