General Informations - Vehicle Outfit

All Arrantea Motorhomes have an access from the living unit to the driver's cabin, and are equipped with cabover bed, dinette which can be converted into a second bed, shower with hot and cold water supply, cassette toilet, sink, stove, refrigerator, a small wardrobe, and overhead storage compartments. There is no space for big bags / huge suitcases. Usually they can be left at Arrantea on owner's risk (when there's storage space available). You can pick them up again we you return the vehicle in Amsterdam .

Below a view into a typical Motorhome (our vehicles have the steeringwheel on the left of course).

Refrigerator, Electricity and Utilities
When driving, the refrigerator is usually connected with the vehicle's electrical system, and when parked it should be powered by gas.
To save the car's battery, Arrantea cars have a second one for the utilities like the water pump, flushing toilet, cabin lamps etc. When the car is driven this will be loaded up by the car's generator. When parked on a campground it should be plugged in at an outside connection.
Cars with Air Condition have one system. The dash air in the driver's cabin, which works only when the vehicle's engine is running. It does have open acces to the living unit. Usually electrical plug-ins can be found on the campsites.

One word on extra generator(s) for for instance air conditioning or electricity: These are noisy machines. And on almost all campgrounds using them is not permitted during night and sometimes even during the day for longer periods.

Toilet, Shower and Water
Arrantea Motorhomes are equipped with a shower & toilet cabinet. A small supply of water is stored in a water tank. This water should not be used for drinking. And mainly in hot countries, it should be renewed almost every day. In Arrantea Motorhomes there is also another (drinking) water tank.
Chemicals must be added to a motorhome' s toilet. Toilet chemicals are at renter's expense, if not otherwise stated in the rental program. Arrantea vehicles are equipped with a cassette, which can be emptied in normal toilets (on campgrounds / gasstations / hotel-restaurants etc…). Bigger motorhomes always need a dump station which can only be found on caravan parks….

Cooking, Heating, Propane/Gas
In Arrantea Motorhomes there is a gas stove with one or more burners. The burners are provided by propane/gas. This has to be filled into gas tanks/bottles, and constantly refilled by the renter during the trip. There is one bottle available and installed at departure. A full bottle lasts approx. 5 weeks in the summer and less on colder days of course when the heating is fueled too. A second bottle can be obtained at Arrantea at a surcharge. This can be wise for connections are not the same in different European contries. It all depends on when, where and how long you want to travel with our Motorhome…. Please be extremely careful with gas !, and do not use any open fire when refilling the tanks, or discover any leakage. Propane use is at customer's expense, if not otherwise stated in the rental program.
All Arrantea vehicles have a dash board heater in the driver's cabin. This operates as long as the engine is running. For the living area there is a separate heating system necessary. This is available in all Arrantea Motorhomes for in most European countries heating is common due to the weather situations. The heater is fixed to the vehicle in the living unit and is fueled with propane/gas.

Sleeping
Sleeping in a Motorhome may not be completely as comfortable as in your own bed or even in hotel beds. Vehicle beds could be smaller and shorter. Informations we give on bed sizes relate only to the vehicles types shown in our program as samples.

Cabover Bed.
Usually an accommodation for 2 people. Depending on the size you may sleep very close together. The cabover beds have a breadth of 1,40 meters (58 inch).

Cabover Bed

Dinette Bed.
The seating groups (dinette) can be converted into another bed for the night. There is a seating group for four people, which will allow a double bed for two. Usually sleeping on the dinette is good for small(er) people and children, as beds have a length of 1,90 meters (79 inch).

Bunk Bed.
A third bed category are the bunks. Here you find one bed over another one. These however are not available in our vehicles.

Arrantea can supply Vehicle- and Personal Kits, packages of basic household equipment with pans, pots, cups, plates, knives, forks, spoons etc. Also they have blankets (or sleeping Bags if you prefer), pillows, pillow cases, towels and similar things available. There is a user's fee charged.
